Redirection is a teaching strategy for changing or replacing the child's/teens approach, habit or behavior.  Redirection goal is to focus on replacement to an expected behavior, effective approach or healthy habit.

• focusing on replacement allows for a teaching opportunity that will provide the child/teen with information of expected social expectations,  strategy or tool to versus giving negative attention to an unexpected behavior.
