There is no better time than in this season of Covid to discuss emotional regulation. We are experiencing change daily that is unimaginable. Making this a perfect time to discuss emotional management to reduce stress and anxiety in our homes. We are going create coping tool box that will assist us during these unexpected adventures. While we may not be able to change our circumstances we can rise above them. Both emotional competency and regulation are essential life skills for self-management, adapting, and healthy living. Let’s learn together with our children how to approach challenges smarter, proactively and prioritizing self-care.

Emotional Competence: refers to skills to recognize, interpret and respond constructively to emotions of yourself and others.

Emotional Regulation/Control is the process of recognizing, controlling emotions and reactions to emotions.
